Company Description

Chitnis produced reel to reel tape recorders from 1959 to 1964 which were manufactured in UK. These tape recorders targeted the consumer market. Chitnis tape recorders used tube electronics. The company produced both 2 and 4 track machines available in 110-120v & 220-240v voltages.

The short-lived Chitnis company was founded by G. Chitnis, an Indian gentleman living in London who had previously worked for the German company Elektron. After a few years they started marketing the tape recorders under the name Audiograph.

1959 Chitnis releases the 9/S4K  quarter track stereo R-R recorder

1960 Released the models KM22and KM33

1961 Released the KMS/66
