Delcor Reel to Reel Tape Recorders

Company Description

October 7, 1963 edition of Television Digest included this listing:

Libsohn had made the rounds of obscure tape equipment and electronics manufacturers before that time. He was listed with Mark Simpson Co. when they exhibited at an AES meeting in 1951. Then Sonocraft, and Tetrad. He was the president of Telectrosonics and then General Magnetics, which was bought out in 1961 by Estey Electronics. They marketed the Gemark 101 tape recorder while he was there and later a few others, and under Eastey also made guitar pickups. Delcor followed that. I can’t find anything about him after that. The guy kept trying but never seemed to find a market or get any notice.

Not much info on this company. Model 770 is a standard reel to reel player recorder, with a stereo tube amplifier that seems similar to Japanese Aiwa/Roberts 1630 model in the amplifier and tube choices. Tape drive mechanism seems like USA brands using flat cloth fiber belt drives and the standard 7.5 3.25 speed switch in the middle.
