Non-working Dokorder 8020A. Not sure what is wrong as it was my dad's and he was trying to fix it but passed away before being able to finish. Believe a sound issue with circuit board. Good as a fixing project or parts.

Description

These unusual machines were quite unique and featured Dokorder’s exclusive ‘Dub-A-Tape’ system. Both were 4-track 2-speed recorders, the 8010 (pictured) being a full recorder with built-in amplifiers and speakers and the 8020 being a deck only.
The recorder(s) had a total of five heads: a pair of recording/playback heads and a pair of erase heads, plus a special playback head designed especially for dubbing.
A single-drive dubbing system was used when dubbing so as to ensure simultaneous tape speed on both source and copy tapes, hence the elimination of any speed variations.
Four motors were employed: a reversing synchronous type for the capstan drive, two heavy-duty capacitor types for reel drive, and a special transport motor for dubbing which synchronised with the other motors.
Automatic reverse as well as continuous reverse was selectable.
Two separate treble controls were provided.
Price when new approx. $200.
