Description

The N4408 was a quarter-track stereo, all-transistor recorder designed for vertical or horizontal operation with special reel hub-locks fitted for the former. Three tape speeds (7½ , 3¾ and 1 ips) were provided, as was an automatic tape-positioning device for speedy track location, which could invoke the auto-stop function at any given reading on the tape counter. An illuminated track selector could also distinguish between record and play functions. The 6 watt per channel amplifier featured separate bass & treble controls and the two detachable speakers clipped onto the machine to form an attractive lid.
