I've taken very good care of this piece of equipment. As you can see from the images, it's in the original box. It has been stored in my home in a closet. The instruction manual, the take-up reel and the head demagnetizer are included. It has not been exposed to extreme heat or cold like in a garage. I used it 3 years ago to convert some music to a digital format. I am the original owner. SEPARATELY - I also have 8: Maxell UD XL 35-180B tapes in good condition (mostly disco... sigh). I'd like to sell all of them together for $280. If you would prefer to buy fewer, I'll sell them for $50 each.

Description

The RT-1011 was introduced in 1974 and was Pioneer’s most affordable open reel-to-reel tape deck
with a list price just under $600.
It was a three head, quarter-track stereo deck that could accept reels up to 10½ inches.
All Pioneer’s open reel decks manufactured between 1973 and 1975 employed synchronous hysteresis motors and the RT-1011 was equipped with three – the reel tables being belt driven.
A frequency response of 40-20K Hz was claimed. The RT-1011 can be distinguished from the RT-1020 at a glance because the former used black plastic knobs and toggle switches but the latter used machined aluminum pieces.

This recorder remained in production from 1974 to 1978.
