Description

Also known as the Tandberg Model 6, the  64x (quarter track) or 62x (half track) were excellent machines produced from 1960 -1966.
In a December 1962 Tape Recorder Magazine article, F.C Judd described the Tandberg Model 6 as   “…Flexible, a high standard of performance, portability and compact….in other words, Norway’s answer to my recent question…. ‘where is the ideal tape recorder?’……”

A record/playback deck only, the Model 6 required external amplifiers and speakers for full mono or stereo play.  It had three heads, three speeds, rugged and compact construction, a four digit tape position indicator and twin cathode ray record level indicators.
