Description

Teac’s special new R&D group TASCAM (TEAC Audio Systems Corp America.) was established in 1970 for the purpose of researching ways to apply TEAC’s recording technology for musicians and recording studios. They realized that ‘quadraphonic’ might not be the next big thing, but the 4-track technology might be very well suited for the home recording, and released this recorder in 1972.
This was the forerunner to the A 3340S which had modified eq and bias circuits to reflect the improvements in tape quality. Otherwise, specs and characteristics very similar to the model A 3340S.
