Description

The Teac A-6600 was a fully-featured deck aimed at the serious amateur or semi-professional. The auto reverse transport featured a dual-capstan drive and four heads- erase, record and two playback – one for each direction. Other features included counter repeat, tape guide rollers, cueing facility, high and low bias and equalisation settings, peak indicating LEDs integrated into the large VU meters, three position monitor switches and an ‘auto spacer’ which inserted blank spaces between selections. This machine has always been a bit of a sleeper that many Teac enthusiasts overlooked for no good reason.  It’s one of the better machines they made. Based on availability over the years, it looks like they didn’t sell anywhere near as many of these as some of their other top machines.
