This was given to me from a friend's mother's attic. Rewind and FFWD work, and there is sound when the tape is dragged over the playback head. This is the stereo version; there is a deck mounted over a speaker, and a separate playback speaker enabling stereo playback. It comes with several tapes. The sale price posted is random. If someone is interested I'm happy to negotiate a lower price. My concern would be in keeping shipping costs down, and I don't yet know the best way to do that. I live in Eastern Connecticut and would be willing to meet someone within a few hour's drive. I've been in pro-audio sales and home studios for over 50 years. I won't argue that this deck can be turned into a shining example of audio perfection, but it might be fun to work on. People have been converting these to low-wattage guitar amps, too. The circuit resembles a Fender Champ. Glad to answer questions.
