Description
Looking somewhat like a 10½ ” reel version of the GX- 286D but with the mechanical push
buttons of the GX-230D, the GX600 series was a quarter-track stereo tape deck with two speeds (3¾ and 7½ ips), three heads and three motors.
The first of the series, the 600D featured a solenoid for engaging the brakes and was the only 600 model with a belt driven capstan.
Other features included a sound-on sound function and mixable line/mic inputs with concentric controls.
A Dolby version was available (GX-600DB) as was a high-speed (7½ and 15 ips), two track version, the 600 D-Pro.
