Description
The AS-5000 (and its big brother the AS-6000) series of tape decks were semi-professional, three motor machines with three heads. Available in both half-track (5002) and quarter-track (5004) stereo versions, and extra playback head could be fitted so that both half and quarter-track tapes could be used.
The deck came with three speeds, 7½ , 3¾ and 1 7/8 ips.
Other features included electronically controlled braking, Opto-electronic tape tension regulation, fast rewind cuing, auto play repetition key (tape will rewind when key is pressed and begin playing when key released),
electronic tape counter, mixing facility and headphone output with separate volume control.
