Additional Details

Description

At 7 lbs (3.2
kg) including batteries the Butoba MT7 was, for its time, a very light
and easily transportable tape recorder with two tape speeds (3¾
& 1
ips) and perfectly acceptable 1 watt output through an internal 3½
x 6-inch elliptical speaker.
Three-inch reels could be accommodated, and with triple
play tape, this gave a maximum recording time of 2 x 44 minutes at 1
ips, or 2 x 20 minutes at 3¾ ips. Fast forward and rewind were
provided.
A version with remote control facilities (MTR7) was also
available.
Priced at around £40 (slightly more for the remote
version) the MTR7 was a practical and portable recorder giving good value
for money.
See accompanying vintage test report below
for a more detailed description of this equipment.
