Description
The advertising slogan for
this recorder ran …..
“Sure it’s an ugly brute. All the money went into its guts.”
A catchy little piece of promotion I’m sure you’ll agree!
The Cipher VI was a quarter-track stereo recording and playback system
with twin VU meters, a balanced capstan flywheel combined with a pure
idler drive (no belts!), tape lifter during fast forward and rewind, index
counter and a pause control.
Two detachable extended-range speakers and a matched pair of dynamic
microphones were also thrown in.
