Description
The 440 was a stereo quarter-track recorder with three speeds, 7″ reel capacity , all push-button operation and hybrid circuitry (transistorised preamplifier, tube output stage).
Record level was indicated by a dual neon light arrangement – normal and overload.
A stereo tube a 10-watt amplifier drove the two speakers, one internal 4 x 6″ and an external 6¼” speaker in the detachable lid.
Price when new was $US 239.95 with two microphones,two recording leads and one extension speaker lead.
