Description
A four-track mono recorder utilising the Collaro “Studio” Tape Transcriptor deck.Features included a three digit tape counter, two heads (record/play and erase), separate bass & treble controls and mixable inputs. A subsequent variant, the LZ 29/L was physically identical to the LZ 29 but had grey knobs. The main difference concerned the bias oscillator.
In the LZ29, a single pentode (ECL 86) functioned as bias oscillator in ‘record’ position and as an audio output valve in the ‘playback’ position, whereas in the LZ29/L a separate double-triode (ECC 82) was employed to
function solely as bias oscillator.
