The poor man’s Nagra!
A two-speed (7½ and 3¾ ips) portable battery/mains recorder
able to take 4″ reels.
This British designed, Swiss built recorder was a half-track mono machine,
with separate batteries for the motor and electronics – a system which
was claimed to reduce motor noise to a minimum during recording.
At a speed of 7½ ips, the frequency response was a credible 50
– 12kHz 3dB
with a wow & flutter figure of less than 0.3% R.M.S.
