Description
The G268 was very similar to the G258 featured elsewhere on this site. But whereas the G258 was primarily intended for dictation and office use, the 268 was designed for a more conventional role. Like the G258 it was a three speed (3¾, 17/8 and 15/16 ips) half-track tape recorder with a maximum spool size of 5″.
Frequency response at 3¾ ips was quoted as being 50Hz – 12kHz (compared with 80Hz – 6.5kHz for the G258) and output power was 2.5 watts (half a watt more than the G258)
