Description
I don’t imagine there’d be too many of these monsters lying around today….. Most probably Knight’s first recorder, this was a single-speed, half-track mono machine from the very early days of tape recording where “fast forward” was a notable feature in the advertising blurb!
A five-watt audio output from a 6V6GT beam power tube drove a 5″ speaker and a “magic eye” (6E5) displayed
recording level. The frequency response at 7½ ips was 85 – 6500Hz (3 DB) and the unit came with a crystal microphone. Valve line-up was:65L7, 6J7, 6V6GT, 6E5, and 6X5GT. The case was finished in maroon
leatherette.
