Description
Lafayette made three versions
of this recorder, this one with its fancy teak veneered cabinet
was majestically dubbed “The Criterion 1000B” and aimed at the
discerning buyer.
A hybrid unit using transistors in the preamp section and valves in the
amplifiers, this stereo recorder featured auto shut-off, sound on sound,
two 6″ x 4″ speakers with “side-flap” reflectors,
push-button transport controls and came with two dynamic microphones.
The deck was driven by a heavy-duty 4-pole capacitor-start motor. Price
when new: $US189.95.
At $30
cheaper, the RK-675 was identical except for the case.
