Description

Lafayette’s
deluxe quarter-track, three-head stereo tape deck featured three speeds
(7½ , 3¾ & 1
ips) with automatic equalisation, auto shut-off, sound-with-sound, sound-on-sound,
a 5-mode single tape function lever, twin VU meters, single 4-pole induction
motor, and a 7″ spool capacity.
Separate record and playback amplifiers and laminated record
and /playback heads enabled off-tape monitoring.
In addition there was a 4-digit tape counter, and individual
record level controls for left and right channels.
The unit came in a sturdy utility base, a ‘deluxe’ oiled
walnut wooden base was available for $9.95.
