Description

Lafayette’s
deluxe quarter-track stereo machine for 1969 featured three speeds (7½ ,
3¾ & 1
ips) with automatic equalisation, tape lifters, auto shut-off, sound-with-sound,
sound-on-sound, a 5-mode single tape function lever, twin VU meters, single
4-pole induction motor, 7″ spool capacity and a laminated combined
record/playback head. In addition it had a 4-digit tape counter, magnetic
phono input for recording direct from a turntable and individual tone
and volume controls for left and right channels.
Two 5 x 7″ full-range speakers were driven by a solid
state 12 watt (maximum) amplifier.
