Fore-runner to the 401, 402, 403 and 404, the Optacord 400 first appeared in 1958. It was a two-track mono recorder withy a single speed of 3¾ ips and a maximum reel capacity of 5.9″ (15 cm).
Power output was 3 watts and the amplifier used five tubes and two dry rectifiers.
Price when new (Germany) was 429.00 DM.
