Manufactured by the Belgian company ACEC, (Ateliers de Constructions Electriques de Charleroi), the 1960 Lugavox 1165
was a quarter-track mono recorder with stereo playback possible via an add-on amplifier/speaker.
Four speeds were provided, two for speech (15/16 and 1ips) and two for ‘Hi-Fi’ (3¾ and 7½ ips).
Drive was via a single motor and reels of up to 7″ (18cm) could be accommodated.
