Description

Like so many small British
manufacturers in the late 1950s, the Maestrovox was constructed around

the Collaro Mk IV
transcription unit.
This was a half- track mono machine with a 7″ reel capacity
and three tape speeds:15, 7½ & 3¾ ips.
The Collaro Mk IV was capable of playing in both directions and was fitted
with two motors and two sets of heads for that very purpose.
Record level indication was via magic eye valve, there was
an independent gain control for monitoring and a high impedance output
socket (to CCIR Standards). Mixing of inputs was possible.
