Description
The Aristocrat was a four-speaker, dual speed mono recorder with a 10-watt push-pull output and an illuminated VU meter. A ‘Finger-Flite’ single rotary control was provided for play, record, fast forward and fast rewind functions. The record/playback head had a quarter-mil gap and a removable pole piece.
An automatic shut-off switch stopped the motor at the end of the reel or in case of tape breakage.
The recorder had two high impedance inputs, one high and one low impedance output.
A stereo playback version, NL-3S was available – this featured stacked stereo heads and an extra output preamplifier to be connected to radio, TV or hi-fi system.
Price when new: NL-3 (mono) $189.95 NL-3S (stereo) $219.95
