Philips called this “An automatic family de-luxe
tape recorder” in their 1968 catalogue.
An all-transistor, quarter-track mono recorder, the
EL 3578 featured a two-position automatic recording control for microphone
and radio/gramophone inputs (manual recording was also available).
Stereo playback was possible with an external pre-amplifier,
amplifier and speaker.
