Description

The TC 135 was a mains-operated low-budget half-track mono recorder with automatic record level, two speeds, a five-inch maximum spool capacity and a simple rotary transport control for rewind, pause and playback. Record was activated by a red button at the right side of the machine while putting the function control into PLAY mode. No fast forward facility was supplied.
Speed change was facilitated by the removal of a bush from the capstan spindle.
Two inputs were provided (microphone and high-level auxiliary) and one output for an external amplifier.
Price when new in the UK was £29 8s including dynamic microphone, 3″ tape and empty 3″ spool.
The accompanying vintage test report (t) gives a thorough description of this equipment.
