Description

The Tandberg 1021 was specially designed for language laboratory use. Typically, these laboratories consisted of about twenty tape recorders – one for each student – and a large control panel where the teacher sat.

Looking at the picture at top right, the controls are (from left to right ): volume – record/play.
two headphone jacks (black). mike jack (white) call button. record indicator. pause button and the Tandberg standard joystick selector for play and wind. The lever between the reels is a track selector for playback student/master or student+master.
