Description

The Tandberg Model 13
was an endless loop cartridge recorder/player primarily designed for background
music applications and available in two versions. the 1325
and the 1344.

The model 1344 was a mono player for endless tape cartridges. Track-changing
was automatic and allowed 3 hours playing time without repeats.
A special microphone with a push button
was provided. by pressing this button, the music was muted and announcements
could be made through the 5 watt R.M.S. internal amplifier.
The model 1325 was similar to the 1344 but
permitted recording of one’s own cartridges.

By connecting the two together (as in picture
below with the 1325
on the left and the 1344 to its right), one could have background music being played on the 1344 and pre-recorded special
announcements on the 1325. At regular intervals (selectable between 2
– 12 minutes), the background music could be muted and the announcement made.
