Description

A half-track mono recorder
that was produced from 1963 to 1968, basically a three-speed version of
the series 8.
Three watts of audio output powered an internal heavy-duty 7″ x
4″ Goodmans speaker which could be switched on or off when an external
speaker was connected. A bass switch gave a 12 dB boost at 70Hz on playback.
Other notable features were a 4-digit illuminated position indicator,
an EAM86 magic eye record level indicator with a damped backward movement,
two heads and a frequency response of 40 – 16kHz 2
dB at 7½ ips.
