The third and final version of the 4010 series arrived in 1973 with the following upgrades from the 4010 SL model- Ferrite heads with per permalloy cores, Record pause button, Quick lock reel tabs, Reel height adjuster, Timer adapter and slightly improved specifications for signal-to-noise and frequency response. Signal-to-noise ratio improved by 5 dB to 55 dB
If you wanted to move up from the 4000 series, while maintaining the separate transport and preamp, the next step was the 6000 series that included Teac A-6010, A-6010S and A-6010GSL
