Description
The Telefunken Magnetophon 104 was part of the new range of domestic machines and was a budget, half-track mono machine with a maximum spool size of 5¾”. This was the cheapest Telefunken model featured in the 1965 Tape Recorder
Directory, listed at just £40.
Other models available were the Magnetophon 85 de Luxe at £95 (the last of the range that had begun back in 1958 with the KL65 and which had sold over half a million units by 1965). and the stereo Magnetophon 96 & 97 series, both priced at £109 The Magnetophon 104 had the single tape speed of 3¾ ips, NARTB replay characteristics, a single motor and a fluorescent bar record level indicator.
