Description

The shortcomings of the Sonet Duo gave rise to the Sonet
B3. It retained many of the Duo’s features, the robust transport, two speeds (3¾ and 1 7/8 ips), a digital tape counter (but with 4 digits instead of 3) and push-button
switching of input connections. However, the Sonet B3 now offered a 7″ spool capacity, improved frequency response and wow & flutter figures and a more powerful amplifier.
It provided quarter-track mono recording, and, with the addition of an external amplifier, could play back stereo tapes.
