Description

Derived from the 1966 TRD studio deck, the DPA/1 Stereo was a full logic controlled three motor machine with a maximum reel size of 10½ inches and four speeds (15 ips to 1 7/8 ips).
The inclined front panel housed an all solid-state preamplifier with 600 ohm studio line specification and a PPM meter to BBC specification.
A tape footage counter using a conventional English Numbering Machine counter driven by a drum around which the tape ran allowed more accurate cuing than regular counters of the era. A variable spooling speed control was also fitted.
