Description
Chris (from the UK) recently purchased this R1 (RE15), still in its original box, never having been opened. There was still the steel banding around the carton and the original brown tape! He sent me the pictures and the following observations:
“…. It is a Truvox R1 (actually R15, the R15 being the 240Volt version with numeric tape counter). This machine is in as-new
condition. All the rubber belts etc are fine, even the rubber covered wire is still rubbery. It came with all the original sales sheets and manual. From the dates on the electrolytic capacitors (Mar 56) I would say this machine was made in late 1956. It uses the MK IV Truvox tape deck.
I powered up the machine a couple of days ago. Initially
all seemed to be working, but only for a few minutes… The capacitors have started failing. No problem though, I’ve got some replacements, should have the machine 100% this weekend ….”
