Description
The R7 was a half-track, bi-directional mono recorder with two speeds – 7½ and 3¾ ips. Twin tape head assemblies and a two-speed reversible capacitor-run motor enabled the R7 to record and playback in both directions. Two reel motors were fitted for a fast forward/rewind speed of 1200ft per minute.
Functional control was via a simple two-knob arrangement and other features included auto stop, pause, digital counter, direction indicators, magic eye modulation level indicator, separate bass and treble controls and a 10 watt push/pull amplifier.
