Description
The 4 track Vernon 47/26 falls into the category of unobtainium in spite of the fact that it was in buyers guides in 1963 and 64.
First priced at $600, they jacked it up to 860. We can only guess that it didn’t sell very well.
Additional Info
The origin of the unusual model number – In the early 60’s, as a kid, I was into reel to reel tape recorders. One that I really liked, but could have never afford, was the Vernon 49/26. At the time, I did have the data sheet for it. It showed the it had 49 transistors and 26 diodes, thus, the model number! Thanks R-R member – ecsaltz
