The Victor TD-5000SA appears to be yet another Japan market only tape recorder from a widely diversified company that did not make many tape-recorders.
A dual capstan transport with an automatic tension control system combined with with IC logic controls make this higher-speed deck a pretty decent half track contender and it also included IEC and NAB equalization.
The SA (Sen alloy) is an extension of the SF (Sendust Ferrite) head. A high-hardness sendust alloy on the surface of the permalloy core, achieves greater durability.
