Description

The Magnegraph was a high-quality half-track mono recorder with a 7″ spool capacity and, uniquely for that period had reverse-play/record. Not much else is known about this recorder- it was sold by Wirek between 1952 and 1954 who advertised it as being a ‘factory built job by a well-known manufacturer’. This could possibly have been Magnegraph Ltd of Hanway Place, London W1 who supplied audio equipment and tape to disc services and who also sold the Magnegraph for £62. Laskys Radio briefly advertised the Magnegraph as a ‘scoop. bulk price of £34/19/6d in 1953.
