1950 To 1959
Audio Kino was a brand manufactured in Budapest Hungary by Audio Kino és Hangtechnikai Vállalat. Founded in 1950 by Nagy Andor, Vörös Rezső and Pulvári Károly the company had a pretty decent output in terms of numbers of different products the continued all the way until 1959. This company produced turntables, speakers, microphones, radios and a small number of tape recorders in the 1950s. It would appear that they were in business from 1950 to 1959 and at some point they were nationalized by the government.
1953 To 1998
Budapesti Rádiótechnikai Gyár or BRG (Budapest Radio Technology Factory) was established on January 1, 1956. 1956 To
Finommechanikai Vállalat, Abbreviated FMV was founded in 1952 at X. district, Fehér street 10 in Budapest. Initially producing of radars for military use, production of tape recorders began in 1955. Manufacture of transmission, measuring instruments and electrical equipment. Microwave transmission equipment for the 1978 Moscow Olympics was supplied by FMV. The company closed on October 25, 1993.
1949 To 1992
Mechanikai Laboratórium Studyjny Mechlabor translates to Mechanical Laboratory Telecommunication Experimental Company. Established in 1949, Mechlabor consolidated several smaller plants. The main offices were located in Budapest in the Gorky alley (today the City Park alley). Originally this company produced military and intelligence recording equipment and in 1954 started producing studio recorders. Reporter tape recorders, cassette machines and turntables would follow. Until 1972, the factory was located in Dunakeszi, near the airport. From 1972, the production of studio recorders was moved to a new factory unit in Pécs. Vörös Szikra Gyár (Red Spark Factory) Produced the first tape recorder manufactured in Hungary, the M1. The factory was located in Budapest.
