Description
Described by Lafayette as ‘A Complete Recording Studio in One case’ , the RK-155 was the full recorder version of the RK-140 tape deck.
It was a quarter-track stereo machine with two speeds (7½ & 3¾ ips). three heads (with Mu-metal shielding). single 4-pole air-cooled induction motor with belt-drive for flutter-filtering. sound-on-sound. automatic tape stop. two 4 x 6″ wide-range speakers and a hybrid construction using 4 transistors (preamplifiers) and 7 tubes (main amplifiers & bias).
Price when new was $169.95 complete with two dynamic microphones, simulated leather case, patch cords and empty 7spool.
