Additional Details

Description

This was Ampro’s first two-speed
recorder, announced in October 1954 and produced up until 1957 when it
was replaced by the (similar) model 758.
The 757 “Hi-Fi” boasted a two-speaker system with a crossover
network to give a frequency response of 40 – 15kHz.
A 6 x 9 inch elliptical Alnico-5 woofer and a 3½ inch round Alnico-5
tweeter were used.
Electromagnetic piano-key controls eliminated all mechanical linkages,
providing push-button operation for starting, stopping, recording, playback
and rewind. Automatic shut-off was also a feature.

Additional Info

Rewind speed: 72 ips forward / 120 ips rewind / Audio output power: 3.2 watts / Weight: 35 lbs (15.9 kg) / half-track mono
