Description
Made by Crescent Industries of Chicago, Illinois, the 903 was a budget portable dual-track recorder with a speed of 3¾ and the model 907 had a speed of 7½ ips. The 9037 predictably had both speeds with a push/pull selector switch. A single motor drive gave a fast forward and fast rewind speed of 80 seconds for 1200 ft and wow and flutter were quoted as being less than 0.5% at 7½ ips. An inbuilt 2-watt amplifier powered a front-facing internal speaker and the recording level was indicated by a neon lamp. Microphone and radio/phono inputs were provided as was an output for the external speaker and amplifier.
