Description
The Dansette Consort was a lower end domestic recorder utilising the single speed (3¾ ips)
BSR deck with simple joystick control and a maximum spool size of 5¾-inches.
It was a mono half-track machine with high impedance microphone and medium
impedance radio/gram inputs. Record level was provided by an EM 84 magic
eye valve and rewind time was 3½ minutes.
A quarter-track version, the Consort 4, had a stereo playback capability
(with external amplifier and speaker) but in all other respects was identical
to the Consort.
