Description
The TK 18 was a half-track mono recorder with AVC (Automatic Volume Control) on recording. Apart from the AVC, the recorder was almost identical the TK 14 with a single speed ( 3¾ ips), a single two-pole motor, two heads and a 5¾ inch maximum spool capacity. The recorder was fully push-button operated, with two banks of three piano-style keys and two rim control knobs. Audio power output was 2.5 watts and the elliptical internal speaker measured 5¾ x 4¾ inches. Frequency response was slightly higher than the TK 14. being 40 – 12kHz 3dB.
