Description
An
automatic solid state, 4-track stereo recorder, designed to meet DIN 45500
standards.
The 244 Hi-Fi was a two-speed (7½ and
3¾ ips) machine allowing either vertical or horizontal operation
and had a seven inch reel capacity.
A blend-in, fade-out control was added to the
usual volume and tone slider controls as was a ‘magic ear’ automatic level
control.
Other features included auto-stop, piano-style
push keys for start, stop, fast forward, rewind and pause, and a 4 watt
per channel amplifier driving twin internal 7¼ x 3 inch speakers.
