Description

This is the four track version of the Magnecord 728, released in the late 50s.

It sold for approximately $900 at that time, which could buy you a car. One of the more leading edge machines of its day and unfortunately represents one of the last really great machines that were made by Magnecord. An incredibly compact and dense machine that does not look like it has 10″ reel capability, but it does.

Additional Info

Typical restoration for an older tube machine with a moderate amount of film capacitors required and the all metal chassis had a nice big fan on the back, that more than likely will need replacement. Otherwise you will have a machine that will overheat. Screw terminal outputs that can be replaced by a technician with RCA’s, without too much difficulty. You might want to consider the power input as well. Some of the machines that I have bought that had no restoration and were working 60 years after manufacture. How about that?
