Description
Using the tried and tested transport mechanism from the series 90, the series 100 also featured piano key operation, positive lock reel carriers, 4 digit counter, hinged editing panel, input mixing facilities, sound-on-sound, three tape speeds, three motor drive with Papst capstan motor and horizontal
operation. Like the series 90 the series 100 came in PD (deck-only) and R versions (with built in amplifiers and speakers.
Pictured at left is the R104, a quarter-track mono recorder. Stereo units were available (PD 102-half-track) and PD 104 (quarter-track).
The tape recorder guide from 1965 describes this as a Benjamin Truvox.
