Description

Available in mono (PT-72) and stereo (PT-725), the Virtuoso featured a dual extended range speaker system with a crossover network: one 6′ circular PM woofer and an exponential 4″ tweeter with solid basket.
A two-speed recorder, this recorder had a “Unimagic” single-lever control for Play, Record, fast Forward and Rewind. The record head had a removable pole-piece, the amplifier output was 5 watts and record level was displayed via a “magic eye”.
Signal to noise ratio was 48dB and wow & flutter at 7½ ips was under 0.4%.
Other selling points were a 3-digit tape counter and automatic breaking.
