Description
Bettering the DIN 45 500 standards laid down for Hi-F, the N4418 was a four-track stereo recorder, featuring three speeds (7½ , (3¾ & 1 7/8ips), three motors, three heads (record, playback and erase) and internal 12 watts R.M.S. per channel amplifiers which could be used with the motors switched off.
Facilities were provided for A/B monitoring, multiplay, echo and input
mixing.
All audio controls were of the slide-type and transport functionality
was via solenoid-controlled, illuminated light-touch buttons.
